How much does it cost to join?

How do I join?

Join the network by clicking the "join now" button on any page of the site. Registration is quick and simple, but does require validation of your e-mail address.

Once you have joined the network you can start connecting with other members, add basic organization profiles, post ads for events, post wanted ads, and post ads for free items. You can also create and join groups and discussion forums. Posting ads for goods, services, jobs, and housing requires an active subscription, as outlined below.

How do I post ads?

With your free personal profile you can post unlimited ads for events, post wanted ads, and post ads for free items. Posting ads for goods, services, jobs, and housing requires an active subscription, 70% of which is paid to the non-profit of your choice. Here are the subscription options:

Unlimited Ads for 1 Year: $20 ($14.00 goes back to the non-profit of your choice)

Your postings will appear on the profile of the non-profit(s) you have supported with your subscription, and they will appear on the dashboard of other members you are connected to. We encourage you to support multiple non-profits by purchasing multiple subscriptions, which will help your ads reach a broader audience, and will show your commitment to the community.

How does my subscription help my non-profit?

Buy the Change donates $.70 cents of every dollar received back to non-profits. That's right, 70% of your subscription fee goes back to benefit the non-profit you choose

Why should I pay to post in this community when I can post free on other sites?

Paying for postings on Buy the Change demonstrates your commitment to the mission and values of the non-profit you are supporting. It gives people a reason to choose to buy from you rather than an anonymous person across town or a competitor in the yellow pages. On the Buy the Change network the aim is that you will build relationships that last beyond the transaction with people who share a commitment to your non-profit and/or neighborhood.

When I purchase a subscription is it tax deductible?

The cost to purchase a subscription with Buy the Change is not tax deductible because you are receiving something of value in exchange for the fee. It is not a donation.

When do I pay?

There is a link to post ads on your dashboard. You pay the first time you choose to post ads for goods, services, jobs, or housing.

Is it safe to pay online?

Yes! It is very safe as all payments to Buy the Change are made directly to Buy the Change and are secured through a payment gateway system.

Will my personal information (name, address, email) be shared or sold to 3rd party companies?

At no time will Buy the Change sell or share any personal information for any reason.

What do I do if I forget my user name and/or password?

Click the "Forgot Password?" or "Forgot Username?" link in the login box. You may also click here to begin the process.

What name will show on my credit card statement?

Your credit card should read: BUYTHECHANGE

How do I find a good/service/announcement?

Simply search from your Buy the Change organization site in the Search box.

How do I upload pictures?

To "upload" an image from your computer during the Place an Ad process, use the "Browse" button on the image upload page and simply browse your computer to locate the image. Once you've located the image, just double click on it, and your files will upload automatically.

Can I join multiple organizations on the Buy the Change network?

Absolutely! We encourage all of our users to join as many organizations as they'd like. You can simply manage these communities through your account. In order to post ads in each organization you need to have a paid subscription to each organization.

What if I'm not affiliated with any of the existing communities on the Buy the Change network?

We encourage you to let your organization know about this service. Help spread the word and send them an introductory e-mail by clicking here.
